A study on a political awareness of male and female voters and a type of voting in 2010 local election

This study is to examine the change of a voting type through surveying and analyzing a political awareness of men and women voters and a type of voting in a capital area where women ran the office, facing a local election in 2010. This study is to be utilized  as a basic and policy-making report in order to form the power of women's politicalization in future. To do so, This study studied network activities among voters, representation of women, and association for women indicated in the result of 2010 local election in its second chapter. The study examined a political awareness of men and women voters and a type of voting of 2010 local election in its third chapter. The study also examined the roles that voters themselves, government, associations for women, and political parties should play. For speaking the results, significant obstacles, such as a lack of concern for politics for women, a shortage of women politicians, a lack of institution related to election, and an insufficient support in women's participating political field, are found to be remained in the study. Active participation for policy improvements on women voters in the first place as well as active progress of women's movement should be made as a method of its solution. Women's political power should be reinforced in order to expand women's participation in the political area through the network activities of associations for women, political parties. Besides, an education for males to improve awareness for females should be needed. Therefore, it is necessary for youth to have a compulsory education for citizenship to improve a political and feministic awareness in our life.
