The objective of this study is to select and propose legislative issues on women and family for the 19th National Assembly right after its meaningful inauguration. To this end, the legislative issues that need to be continuously tackled in the 19th National Assembly have been drawn up through the analysis and assessment of the legislative trends related to women and family previously dealt with at the 18th National Assembly. This study has also analyzed the legislative environment of the 19th National Assembly from the viewpoints of aggravating employment instability and economic inequality, the continuing gender gap, and changes in the family structure  as well as demographic and social changes including low fertility rates and aging, and it presents the legislative directions for the legislative activities for women and family in the 19th national Assembly. In line with the aforementioned legislative directions, this study proposes 21 detailed legislative issues in eight areas on women and family for the 19th National Assembly: legislative issues for the improvement of employment instability and economic inequality of women; legislative issues for work-family balance and socialization of care work; legislative issues to secure the reproductive rights of women; legislative issues for various family support; legislative issues to eradicate gender violence; legislative issues to rectify gender discrimination; legislative issues to reinforce implementation of policies on gender equality; and legislative issues to expand the social participation of women.
