Female workers over 50 tend to work as self-employed(24.9%) and temporary employees(24.3%) rather than regular employees (9.1%). A large number work in Elementary occupations (25.7%), Agricultural, Forestry & Fishery (21.6%), and Services (25.0%) & Sales (12.9%).

However, 71.8% of males and 44.5% of females over 55 want to work. 61.2% want to have full-time jobs. The purposes of employment are income and meaningfulness. The main requirements of job selection are income and work time. Older women need decent jobs, flexible working hours, employment information, vocational counseling and training, and alleviation of age discrimination in the labour market.
To enable older people to work, the government should try to create diverse and decent jobs in communities, provide one-stop services and training opportunities for employment of older women, and support to transform companies and the society into having an older people-friendly working conditions.
