International migration is not resistible. In August, 2007 the number of foreigners living in South Korea are about one million, which consists of about 2 % of the total population. Under the circumstances, the number of marriage migrants have also increased, and stands at 97,236 in 2007. Since the number of marriage migrants have risen, the Korean social society previously identified as a nation of one people, needs to  now transit to a multicultural one.
In 2006 the government adopted a policy in order to integrate migrants into the society. Among the migrants, the government has paid  a special attention to marriage migrant women because they have to settle down as a member of community. Most of Marriage migrant women have a lot of difficulties in settling down as they are not familiar with the Korean language, customs, and culture. In order to help the women it is necessary to provide social services. Social services for migrant women should be designed to empower them and make them manage risks that they may encounter during the course of their life. In this respect, this study recommends social services for marriage migrant women on the basis of results found through interviews of 28 international marriage couples.
