Recently, the world has seen a trend of actively establishing a museum for female and of invigorating exchanges among existing museums to preserve and record female activities in the process of social development. The trend could be largely associated with proposition of the necessity to overcome composition of the existing museums with blindness of gender-sensitiveness in the wave of heightening acknowledgement of ‘history looked at by female’ in the world. Establishing tentatively named ‘national women's history museum’ is desperately needed in terms of applying a female cultural legacy into a policy. Any added value cannot be produced because the female cultural legacy that is well known is no more than a cultural phenomenon which should be protected. Active capitalization of the female cultural legacy is needed as the means of making female policy, based on acknowledgement for female as a cultural resource and an historically and culturally main agent. It must be fit for a directing point of policy for female to ultimately contribute to development of female through improving acknowledgement on the female cultural legacy and making historical and cultural status of female new and enriched. The project of establishing ‘national women's history museum’, as the representative of policy for female by a Gender Equality & Family department, to some degree, helped improvement of female status to spread gender equality culture with hard time of carrying it out. However, in the face of 10th anniversary of its opening, meaning of the policy for establishing ‘national women's history museum’ should be reinforced and be needed to find a way of developing into establishing tentatively named ‘national women's history museum’ that is suitable for the world trend and the national status. With the background above, the contents of this study include necessity of setting up a ‘national women's history museum’, cases of foreign countries related to a ‘national women's history museum’, composition of the museum for female and the way of its display, the way about how to carry out establishing the museum for female. For this purpose, benchmarking the museum in the USA called NWHM and other museums allowed us to have good implications. This study examined the domestic cases of establishing the museum for acquiring information and knowledge related to change of law for establishing the museum. This study presented the specific place and the way of carrying out establishing the museum. Yet, the most important thing is that support and encouragement of our people, based on formation of a social consensus of women, could certainty help establishing the museum for women.
