2010~2016 Number of Industrial Accident Victims by Sex and Female Percentage
This is result of the Analysis of the Status of Industrial Accidents by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency through 2010~2016 on the number of industrial accident victims by sex. Looking at the number of industrial accident victims by sex, the number of women industrial accident victims was 19,447 in 2010. Then it decreased from 17,808 in 2011 to 17,590 in 2012 which is decreased by 2,000. And in 2014, it slightly decreased again to 18,200 and in 2015, 18,070. In 2016, the number was 18,039, down from 31 in 2015 and 1,408 in 2010.
In the case of men, the number of industrial accident victims is four times more than that of women. Men had the highest number of industrial accident victims in 2010 which was 79,198. Since then, the number of industrial accident victims has declined to 74,666 and 72,709 in 2012 and 2014, respectively, to 72,059 in 2015. In 2016, there were 72,617 industrial accidents, slightly up from 2015, but 6,581 fewer than in 2010. On the other hand, the percentages of women among all industrial accident victims are 19.7% in 2010, 19.1% in 2012, 20.0% in 2014 and 19.9% in 2016, indicating that one out of every five industrial accident victims is women.
