Title Desired Average Monthly Salary of the Elderly

This is the result of raw data analysis of desired monthly average salary of elderly people (aged 55-79 years) through additional survey on economically active population. Among the elderly women, 32.2% of them hope to make “less than 1,000,000~1,500,000 won” which accounted for most of the respondents. Then followed by 27.6% of them hope to make “less than 500,000~1,000,000 won”, 20.8% of them hope to make “less than 1,500,000~2,000,000 won”, 7.7% of them hope to make “less than 500,000” and 2.1% hope to make “more than 3,000,000 won”.

Among the elderly men, 32.4% of men hope to make “less than 1,500,000~2,000,000 won”, followed by 21.7% of them hope to make “less than 1,000,000~2,000,000 won”, 20.5% of them hope to make “less than 2,000,000~2,500,000 won”, 8.5% of them hope to make “less than 500,000~1,000,000 won”, and 0.5% hope to make “less than 300,000 won”. For “less than 1,500,000 won”, it accounted more than 2/3 of women (69.7%) to say they hope to make that salary, whereas in men only accounted slightly less than 1/3 (32.6%).

Comparing the desired wage of the elderly women and men, women showed higher points in the case of “less than 500,000 won” by 7.5%p, “less than 500,000~1,000,000 won” by 19.1%p, and “less than 1,000,000~1,500,000 won” by10.5%p. However in the case of “less than 1,500,000~2,000,000 won” and “more than 3,000,000 won”, men showed higher points by 11.6%p and 6.4%p.
