Title 2010-2016 Number of Public Servants Who are Above Level 5 by Sex

This is the result of examining the number of public servants of level 5 or higher by sex and the proportion of women in the Korean local governments from 2010~2016. As of 2010, there were 1,730 female and 18,348 male which accounted for 8.6% of female in the local governments. By 2012, there were 2,064 female and 18,870 male, which accounted for 9.9% of female. This is a 1.3%p increase from 2010 and 0.7%p increase from 2011.

Since then, the proportion of female in public servants above level 5 has risen steadily, reaching 11.6% in 2014, with 2,527 female and 19,278 male, exceeding 10% for the first time. In 2016, among the 22,083 public servants of level 5 and above in the local governments, there were 2,775 female with a female ratio of 12.6%. This is 4.0% p higher than in 2010. And when compared with absolute figures, the number of female public servants in the local governments who are level 5 and above, which was 1,730 in 2010, increased to 2,775, 1.6 times more than in 2010.
