Title Labor Union Joining Rate, Lowest in Female Temporary Workers

Looking at the rate of wage workers joining labor union by types of employment since 2011, it was shown that male permanent workers was the highest, and following this were female permanent workers, male temporary workers and female temporary workers in the following order.

The rate of male permanent workers joining labor union increased from 18.4% in 2011 to 19.1% in 2016, which was the highest amongst all the other workers. Moreover, the rate of female permanent workers joining labor union increased by 2.1%p from 10.8% in 2011 to 12.9% in 2016, which was the biggest increase amongst all the other workers.

On the other hand, the rate of male temporary workers joining labor union slightly decreased from 4.1% in 2011 to 3.8% in 2016 unlike other workers. In addition, the rate of female temporary workers joining labor union increased from 1.7% in 2011 to 2.0% in 2016, which was the lowest amongst all the other workers but still saw a slight increase.
